Hyundai Motor Co launched its entry level compact car Eon that has been developed specifically for the Indian market. Eon is launched at an introductory price of Rs 2.69 lakh to Rs 3.71 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The booking of this car was started early this month, and there were lot of discussion going on its placement in accordance to the another hot selling car Alto, from Maruti Suzuki.

As per Hyundai management, this car has been designed and developed keeping Indian conditions and special requirements of the consumers in mind.

The Eon, which will compete with Maruti Suzuki India's best selling model Alto, is powered by a 814 Cc petrol engine.

HMIL has invested Rs 900 crore on the development and production facilities for the Eon.
