Hyundai is looking for increase in their market share by introducting the smallest compact car from Hyundai ever. On 13th Oct, 2011, Maruti Suzuki is set to face a tough challenge as producer of the world’s largest-selling small car, Alto. Hyundai is gearing up to launch its compact car "EON" on the domestic shores.
'Eon', will be launched on October 13 at Gurgaon and will be available in 5-6 variants. The basic version of the car will be a non-AC one, while subsequent variants will see the addition of AC, power steering and power windows. The top-end model will come fitted with an MP3 player, single Airbag and will feature keyless entry, said the dealer.
The bookings for the car has already started from October 1st. Hyundai is currently the second largest automobile manufacturer in India behind Maruti Suzuki, and has been clocking good salesdue to the immense popularity of its Santro Xing, i10 and i20 models.
Hyundai Eon will follow Hyundai's latest fluidic design philosophy and it is expected that it will be the best looking hatchback in its class. The top-variant (Sportz) of Hyundai Eon is expected to feature designer wheel covers and front fog lamps. Hyundai Eon features huge peel-back head lights and crystal clear front fog lamps, the top model (Sportz) of Eon will also feature chrome finish front grille, which gives the car upmarket look. It features huge vertical tail-lamps which further enhaces the look of the car. Hyundai Eon looks best when viewed from side angle, it has many curves and flowing lines which looks very unique and different in comparison to other bland looking hatchbacks in this class like Chevrolet Spark, Maruti Alto and Tata Nano. The base variant (D-Lite) will feature black (non-color coded) outside rear-view mirrors, black coloured bumpers, driver side manually adjustable rear-view mirror and black coloured door handles.
EON is expected to be available at a starting price of Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 2.6 lakh.
