Glare of your headlights may blind the drive of approaching vehicle. Thus dip your headlights to low beam when approaching vehicle is within 200 meters or when the other vehicles's headlight dip. Also dip your headlights when driving 200 meters or less behind another vehicle.

Drive at Controlled Speed
Drive at controlled speed. So that you are in position to stop well within visible safe distance.
Remember there is nothing like an instant stop. Always maintain safe distance. Golden rule is to maintain minimum distance of 4 meters for every 15 kmph of your speed from the vehicle in front.

Wear Seat Belts
Always wear seat belt for your safety to avoid serious injury in case of accident.

Operate Turn Signal Timely
Flash the turn signal indicator at least 30 meters before taking the turn.

Adjust Mirrors Properly
Adjust inner rear view mirror for complete view of rear traffic.
Adjust outer rear view mirror with car body in 1/3 position and rear traffic in 2/3 position.

Use engine Brake in Hills
In hill driving do not switch off the engine when going down hill, use engine for braking. For safety use gear in down hill as used during up hill driving.
Allow the driver going up hill the right to proceed first.

Bad Roads Need Slow Speeds
Drive at slow speed on bad roads with pot holes or speed breakers to avoid damage to tyres, wheel rims and other suspension parts.

Respect Traffic Rules
Respect and follow directions of Traffic Police or Road Signs or Traffic signals.
Always overtake from the right of vehicles you are passing and only after the driver ahead of you has signaled his agreement you can pass him.

Drive Defensively
Remember others may not follow rules and be prepared to take evasive action.
Allow other road users the time and space to correct their mistakes and avoid collision.
Never take "wait & see" attitude. Act in time.
Never assume everything will be "All Right".
